UPDATE - The casting for the new Twin Peaks continues, with word this morning that Ashley Judd is the latest to sign up, playing an as-yet unspecified new character. There's also word that Warren Frost - father of executive producer / co-creator Mark Frost - will be among the returning "legacy" roster as Dr. Will Hayward.
Despite his best efforts to keep the new Twin Peaks under wraps – even banning fans from photographing location work – David Lynch's TV revival continues to be leakier than an old bathtub. Word arrives via Deadline that Naomi Watts is now officially on board and Tom Sizemore has signed on.
Watts, a Lynch veteran of Mulholland Drive, was rumoured to be in talks last October. She and Sizemore join a cast that already reportedly includes Jennifer Jason Leigh, Amanda Seyfried, Robert Knepper, Laura Dern and Balthazar Getty alongside original stars Kyle MacLachlan, Ray Wise, Sheryl Lee, Miguel Ferrer, Dana Ashbrook, Mädchen Amick, and Sherilyn Fenn.
And one more name is potentially back in front of the camera: Lynch himself, as there are reports that he'll be reprising his role as FBI Regional Bureau Chief Gordon Cole. Which sounds like good news to us. WE SAY, SOUNDS LIKE GOOD NEWS TO US.
Nothing has emerged about the story so far, and for all we know, Lynch and co-creator Mark Frost have been leaking misinformation about casting to throw everyone off the scent. But he's definitely back in the offbeat small town, preparing the show for US cable channel Showtime and an unspecified 2017 air date.
