CinemaCon is happening in Las Vegas this week, and that can mean only one thing: cinema chain owners getting drunk and gambling too much. Okay... Two things: studios making announcements. And while we already knew that a Wreck-It Ralph sequel was in the works, now we have a title: Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2
As you might be able to deduce from the name (and a previously sketched plot idea), the film finds familiar characters such as Ralph (John C. Reilly), Vanellope (Sarah Silverman), Fix-It Felix (Jack McBrayer) and Sergeant Calhoun (Jane Lynch) exploring a wider digital world than before.
"To take these characters we love and have them enter the enormous world of the internet has given us so much to explore," says returning co-director Rich Moore. "Our production team has been hard at work designing a world that takes something we all think we know – the internet – but shows it in a whole new, imaginative way." Translation: how many jokes about the cruder side of the 'net can the gang sneak in this time. Phil Johnston, who was a writer on the original, is co-directing this one.
Ralph Breaks The Internet downloads onto US screens on 9 March 2018, and we won't have to wait too long to see it – the UK release date is set for 23 March 2018.
