We've been waiting for it for what seems like years, but at last, after debuting at Star Wars Celebration, the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi is now online.
Light. Darkness. The balance. There is a lot of referencing what has come before in this first trailer for The Last Jedi, but plenty of tantalising for things still to come.
It definitely appears to be a dark time for the Resistance, with their bases under attack, and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) on the warpath. Daisy Ridley's Rey, of course, is training with Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker, but his forbidding final words here suggest that there might not be much future in the business of mystical space warrior-ing. "I only know one truth," he says. "It's time for the Jedi... to end."
While she doesn't make much of an appearance here, Kelly Marie Tran is playing one of two new characters Rose. She's a maintenance worker in the Resistance who will become, in director Rian Johnson's words, "an unlikely hero".
Looper's Johnson also wrote the script, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be with us on 15 December.
And if you caught a glimpse of it on the Celebration live stream, the poster is also now up...
