The as-yet untitled Han Solo movie, the next of the Star Wars spin-offs to hit screens, focuses on the younger days of the scoundrel, rogue and scruffy lookin' nerf herder. But that story can't be told without Chewbacca, and incoming director Ron Howard has shared a new look at the version of everyone's favourite Wookiee from the set of the movie.
Chewie, here played by Joonas Suotamo (who inherited the role from Peter Mayhew on The Force Awakens), is a slightly younger version of himself, in keeping with the story of Solo's (Alden Ehrenreich) earlier days. And we have, of course, already seen an image of Chewie in the now-defunct image of Suotamo, Ehrenreich and cast mates Woody Harrelson, Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke and Phoebe Waller-Bridge alongside previous directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who were unceremoniously fired from the film after their shooting style clashed with Lucasfilm's ideas.
Howard has been shipped in to see the production to the finish line and run post-production, with the movie due on 25 May next year.
