Today is clearly Sci-Fi Movie Cast Picture Day. We've already had the actors of Alien: Covenant smiling for the camera, and here comes the people who will be in front of (and behind it) for the still-untitled Han Solo Star Wars film.
Key to the image is our first proper look at how Alden Ehrenreich will appear as Han himself, and there's certainly something of the smuggler about him. Also shown here are Woody Harrelson (who was apparently distracted by something on the Millennium Falcon's instrument panel – perhaps he spotted an approaching asteroid?), Phoebe Waller-Bridge (though not how she'll appear in the movie, given that she's playing a CG character), Emilia Clarke, Joonas Suotamoas as Chewbacca, Donald Glover as Lando and directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller. The one person from the announced cast not shown is Thandie Newton, who we assume was still on the train from Westworld.
"Watching such inspired people from all over the world, with such unique voices, come together for the sole purpose of making art, is nothing short of miraculous," Lord and Miller say in a statement. "We can’t think of anything funny to say, because we just feel really moved, and really lucky."
The cameras officially began rolling at Pinewood Studios yesterday and the script comes from Lawrence and Jon Kasdan. The film is powering up for a release on 25 May next year.
