She'll be seen next year dodging giant robots fighting in Transformers: The Last Knight, but Isabela Moner has just scored a role that will see her taking part in something likely to draw a little more critical love. She has scored a role in Soldado, the follow-up to 2015's Sicario.
Written again by Taylor Sheridan, but directed this time by Stefano Sollima, Soldado won't be a direct continuation of the story, but set in the same world with some of the characters re-occurring. This time around, Benicio Del Toro's violent gun-for-hire Alejandro Gillick and Josh Brolin's morally grey CIA agent Matt Grover still hunting drug kingpins, but on another front. Moner is on board as the stubborn daughter of a drug cartel leader that is their primary target.
Moner joins a cast that already also includes new recruit Catherine Keener as a CIA superior and Jeffrey Donovan returning as DEA agent Steve Forsing. Sollima is rolling the cameras now and the movie should be out later in 2017.
