Witherspoon Asks Who Invited Her?

She spent the majority of her last film, Water For Elephants, either astride one of the big beasts or staring wanly at love interest Robert Pattinson. So Reese Witherspoon is looking to shake things up a little for her future output, attaching herself to produce and possibly star in a comedy called **Who Invited Her?

Novelist Sascha Rothchild came up with the pitch, which chronicles the chaos that occurs when a woman (Witherspoon, presuming she ends up taking the lead role) goes along with a group of guys on a stag party weekend. Yes, it looks like someone saw how much money Bridesmaids, **The Hangover **and the latter film’s sequel made and decided to cook up something that gene splices the two together.

There’s no word on a director or any other casting yet, since this one is still in the embryonic stages of development and doesn’t even have a script in place. But it does have The Soloist's Gary Foster on board to co-produce with Witherspoon and DreamWorks stepping in to buy the pitch after a bidding war with Paramount and Sony.

And sticking with comedy, Witherspoon will next hit the screen in crazy spy romp This Means War alongside Tom Hardy and Chris Pine.
