Wes Anderson has a reliable troupe of actors he likes to work with time and again. And he also has the pre-production wheels in motion for a new, stop-motion animated film in the vein of Fantastic Mr. Fox, this time focused on a group of dogs. Thanks to Jeff Goldblum’s jazz stylings and loose lips, we know that he’ll be providing a voice for the film alongside fellow Anderson veterans Bob Balaban and Edward Norton, plus Bryan Cranston, making the first time working with the director.

Goldblum let the information slip during one of his weekly jazz shows, attended this time by some of the team from Nerdist. Goldblum didn’t elaborate much on the project, only saying that it was “Japanese-inspired” and that it was still early days.

Reports about the film began to filter through last week, though Anderson is keeping quiet about it for now, laying low until he’s ready to talk about. And though Goldblum didn’t mention him, we’d be shocked – shocked, we tell you! – if Bill Murray isn’t involved.

In between his jazz commitments, Goldblum will be seen in Independence Day: Resurgence, which lands on June 24. Norton has a voice in Seth Rogen’s ‘toon Sausage Party, arriving on August 12. Cranston has blacklisted writer biopic Trumbo due here on February 5 and will be heard in DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda 3, out on March 11.
