Nicholas Hoult was recruited to star in true-life Iraq War drama Sand Castle back in March, but it wouldn’t be much of a platoon without other actors. So Toby Kebbell will join him on the battlefield{ =nofollow}.

Sand Castle is scripted by Chris Roessner, who spent two years serving in Iraq and went on more than 200 missions during his stint as a machine gunner in the war-torn country’s Sunni Triangle. The story will focus on Matt Ocre (Hoult), and platoon leader Sergeant Baker (Kebbell), as they and their troops attempt to protect a farming village in the crosshairs of some very dangerous enemies. At the same time, Baker has to keep his troops sane in the face of mounting casualties.

Actor-turned-ads-director Seb Edwards is making the jump to the big screen for his first film job. According to Screen International, he’ll start the cameras rolling and the bullets flying in October, filming in South Africa and Italy.

Kebbell will be back on our screens soon as alpha male chimp Koba, with Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes due out on July 17. He’ll also be in conflict for Warcraft, which reaches us in March 2016, and has signed on to be Dr. Doom in The Fantastic Four, scheduled for June 18, 2015.
