Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a fucking big television. But most importantly of all – choose which Empire cover you’re going to get this month.

Yes – seeing as Danny Boyle has got the Trainspotting gang back together for T2 Trainspotting, twenty years after the original Brit classic, we decided to go big. There are four iconic orange-and-monochrome designs to choose from, each cover featuring one of the four main returning cast members.

Empire were early champions of Danny Boyle’s 1996 cult classic, awarding the film five stars upon release and heralding a new era of confident British filmmaking – so we’re obviously extremely excited about the follow-up. You could say we haven't felt this good since Archie Gemmill scored against Holland in 1978.

And the covers are just the tip of a magazine-sized iceberg, with nearly 150 pages of cinematic goodness within, including on-set access to T2 Trainspotting, an enormous 2017 preview, and all the usual news, reviews and film-related fun you've come to expect from the world's biggest movie magazine.

The new issue of Empire arrives in all good and evil newsagents from December 29. Want to get exclusive subscriber-only covers delivered days before everyone else? You’ll want to subscribe to Empire{ =nofollow}. T2 Trainspotting, meanwhile, arrives on 27 January in the UK, ahead of a March US release.
