Considering the success The CW has had with its annual Arrow/The Flash crossover, it's not surprising that the search would be on for another such opportunity to bring heroes from two different TV series together. What is surprising is the fact that Grant Gustin's The Flash will actually race to CBS' Supergirl for the March 28th episode.
Details are slim at this point, only that the crossover will be one-way (Melissa Benoist's Kara Zor-El will not be making the journey to The CW). According to Deadline.com, word is that since Barry Allen/The Flash has already opened a portal to Earth 2 (part of DC Comics' Multiverse), he'll be making the journey to that parallel world where he'll encounter Supergirl.
In a statement, executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, who also produce DC's Legends Of Tomorrow, enthuse, “We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making Supergirl. We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out. And finally thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.”
In America, Supergirl airs on CBS and The Flash on The CW.
In Britain, both air on Sky 1.
