Stranger Things may not have taken home any of the actual awards (it was nominated in the category of Best Drama, which was won by The Crown), but the young cast of the Netflix series absolutely scored at the 2017 Golden Globes. For starters, they offered up a rap performance that not only emphasized how endearing all of them are, but provided a major plot reveal for season two of the series as well: Sharon Purser’s Barb, who was believed to have died in season one, is still very much alive.

Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers) was interviewed on the red carpet by eonline.com, where she discussed the secretive nature of the show’s storytelling: “We're sort of, like, sworn... you know, we would have to probably be killed if we revealed anything. But actually, it helps the performance when you don't know. It's a strange thing. I never thought it would work that way."

Removed from the Golden Globes and a little more — though not much — forthcoming about the show’s second season was director and executive producer Shawn Levy, who, in speaking to Vanity Fair, noted, “Season two is bigger and potentially darker in its stakes. The threat, which in season one was to Will Byers, has grown. That’s all I’m going to say.” He nonetheless did manage to add that the show’s cast has increased in size for the second year and that the storytelling maintains the “magical storytelling” that was such an important component of season one. “It’s character-based and still about our core group of characters,” he said.

In the same piece, Noah Schnapp, made a series regular in season two and who played the missing Will Byers, offered up his view of the cliffhanger that ended the first season’s episodes. In particular, he refers to the moment when he vomited up a slug. “There may be some effect on him,” he teased. “I may or may not have turned into a monster.” Needless to say, people will be tuning in to find out which.

Additionally, Facebook hosted the cast and the Duffer brothers for a Q&A session regarding season two, the video for which is below.
