Following on from the latest promo for one of the other big superhero releases competing for our attention in 2016, Warner Bros. has decided to give the world a quick taste of the new look at the first of its big DC releases next year. So take a gander at the initial snippet from the trailer for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
It is, of course, simply one out-of-context fragment from the trailer, but does continue the grim mood that has permeated the publicity for this one. In the scene shown, a scowling Superman (Henry Cavill) lands in a subterranean chamber where Batman (Ben Affleck) is in chains. After a moment of staring, Supes whips the cowl from the Caped Crusader’s head and… Well, that’s it for now. We’re assuming it doesn’t go all 50 Shades Of Grey from there, but it certainly doesn’t look good for Batman.
Zack Snyder’s latest finds the criticism and fear of the last son of Krypton (and a more personal issue) bringing Gotham’s growliest vigilante out of semi-retirement to take down what he sees as a threat. Beyond that, we’re to be introduced to Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and a host of other heroes as the stones begin to be laid for the eventual Justice League films.
Expect the full trailer on Wednesday night/Thursday morning and Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice itself arrives here on March 25.
