What is it about the Bermuda Triangle that holds a sway over the world? The mystery is certainly an enticing one that has been explored a few times on screen. Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail is the latest to be tempted into making a film about it.

Universal has him working on a new draft of a script about the region in the Caribbean that has long earned notoriety for press coverage about a number of planes and ships that reportedly went missing after travelling through the area.

Not much is known about what the new movie will feature on the subject, but Esmail is re-writing a script that has seen work from Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, Juliet Snowden and Stiles White. And, assuming the new script meets with everyone's approval, Esmail will also direct it. And he has some competition, as Sam Raimi has reportedly been circling a take for Skydance.

Season 3 of Mr. Robot, meanwhile, will appear in October.
