Gary and Martin Kemp – still best known in cinematic circles for their impressive portrayal of criminal twins Ronald and Reginald Kray in** The Krays** – are set to return to our screens. And they'll still be behaving badly, as they've signed on to appear with Danny Dyer in **Assassin{ =nofollow}.

JK Amalou is directing the film, which finds Dyer as a professional contract killer who learns that his latest target is the estranged father of the woman he loves, while the Kemp brothers will be gangsters Lee and Jim Alberts.

The Krays is one of the best-loved British films of all time, an untouchable classic that only a lunatic would remake, but at the core of that movie are the fantastic performances of Martin and Gary,” producer Jonathan Sothcott tells Screen Daily. “Reuniting them for Assassin is a real coup, a dream come true, and I know their army of fans are going to love seeing what unpleasant plans they have for Mr Dyer.” As do we all, sir. As do we all.

Assassin is gearing up to start shooting next month and will Anchor Bay is planning a UK release next year.
