After word broke last October that Jennifer Lawrence was in talks for Darren Aronofsky's new film, things appear to have moved forward, as there's now news that Javier Bardem is looking to join the untitled project.
According to Variety, Paramount has stepped up to handle the movie, with Lawrence, who picked up a Golden Globe for Joy at the weekend, confirmed to star.
Aronofsky has written and will, as ever, direct a produce the new film. We're apparently to be introduced to a couple whose peaceful existence is shattered when uninvited guests show up at their home.
However the story shakes out, Lawrence was tempted by the concept and the chance to work with the Requiem For A Dream director, and the potential addition of Bardem just ups the interest factor. With luck, the film will be out next year.
Lawrence next has X-Men: Apocalypse out on May 19, with sci-fi romance Passengers following on December 23. Bardem will be the bad guy in Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which doesn't weigh anchor until 2017.
