Not content with two spin-offs and one sequel to The Lego Movie, Warner Bros. is making plans for another related film to be built by Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Roy Lee’s Bricksburg Chamber of Commerce. The team has Jason Segel and** Iron Man 3** writer Drew Pearce developing **The Billion Brick Race{ =nofollow}.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the man who helped bring **The Muppets **back to the big screen and the screenwriter behind Iron Man’s most recent solo outing and at least one early draft of Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation are planning to co-write and co-direct the eventual film, whatever it turns out to be. Pearce birthed the original idea and we’re guessing it has something to do with a lot of bricks and a race. We’re smart like that.

As for when it’ll arrive, that’s also being kept quiet for now, as it’s very early days and Warner Bros. already has Ninjago, The Lego Batman Movie and The Lego Movie 2 in the pipeline for 2016, 2017 and 2018 respectively. It sounds like the studio is happy to keep bricking it for a lot longer than anyone thought it would.

Directing-wise, this would be the first feature film for both of them, though Segel directed an I Love You Man-related short and Pearce successfully brought Iron Man 3’s Trevor Slattery back to our screens with One-Shot All Hail The King. Segel will next be seen playing David Foster Wallace in The End Of The Tour, which has yet to land a UK release spot. Pearce is at work on a new Ghostbusters film for Sony and they previously collaborated on comedy script **The Other F Word.
