While it may not generate the same level of excitement as seeing The Avengers together for the first time, it's still pretty damn cool having the Netflix Marvel heroes uniting in the first full trailer for The Defenders.

Things open with Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) being interrogated by Detective Misty Knight (Simone Missick) when she's visited by Matt Murdoch (Charlie Cox), who we know better as Daredevil, claiming to be her new lawyer. Luke Cage (Mike Colter), who is obviously not in jail, proclaims to Rosario Dawson's Claire Temple that he just wants to help people.

And then we get to see him put that into action when he intervenes in an apparent mugging, preventing Danny Rand (Finn Jones) from punching out someone. Danny, not too fond of that idea, strikes out at Cage, finds him immovable and he himself suddenly on the ground. Of course his fist then goes all glowy and the side of Cage's head feels some serious pain.

It seems that bringing all four of them together is Daredevil's Stick (Scott Glenn), telling them, "The war for New York is here, so get your shit together."

Quick shot of Sigourney Weaver as Alexandra, the villainess of the piece, and we're out.

But we're really in. The Defenders begins streaming on Netflix 18 August.
