Fans of DC's TV output, seen in the States on the CW and in the UK on Sky One, will be happy to learn that the shows' US broadcaster has handed out some late Christmas presents, renewing Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends Of Tomorrow.
The new order means Arrow will hit Season 6, The Flash speeds to four seasons, while Legends and Supergirl both fly to their third runs. The actual episode count has yet to be decided, and will be announced in May when the schedule is set. Still, we'd expect full seasons for all the series. The news comes as part of a package of renewals, as the CW is bringing back nearly all of its schedule, including Jane The Virgin, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and the seemingly unstoppable Supernatural, which will return for a 13th season. Cue happy dancing from our Helen.
That said, new arrivals No Tomorrow (irony alert!) and Frequency seem doomed, as they weren't among those listed for a pickup. But again, there won't be confirmed news on those until May.
And there is even more exciting news for another corner of the DC Universe, as the channel has announced that Constantine, the magician character played by Matt Ryan in a short-lived NBC incarnation, will be coming back to life on the CW's Seed online channel.
The new animated series (with John Constantine voiced by Ryan) will feature several short episodes. It's not a huge return, but it does mean more Constantine for fans. And while there are no new plans for the character to return to the live-action shows following one Season Four episode of Arrow, at least it means he's still on the channel's mind. He'll also be part of the new animated home entertainment release Justice League Dark, due to arrive on 7 February.
