Nobody does movie madness quite like Nicolas Cage. There are even montages dedicated to the man quote-unquote ‘losing his shit’ across his filmography – and that was even before we were treated to 2018’s Mandy, which balanced chainsaw-revving, demon-shredding insanity with emotionally gut-churning meditations on mortality and grief. Cage’s next movie is another gloriously gonzo beast – an adaptation of Color Out Of Space, the sci-fi-horror novella by H.P. Lovecraft. Yes, it’s the Nicolas Cage Lovecraft movie you’ve long dreamed of.

The film, from director Richard Stanley, stars Cage as Nathan Gardner, a family man who moves with his wife and kids to a remote farmhouse to escape the frantic pace of city life. What he doesn’t count on is a meteorite crashing down and infecting everything in its vicinity with an otherworldly indescribable light. Does it send Cage absolutely crackers? Of course it does! Empire has an exclusive look at the stunning UK poster, created by Tom Hodge of The Dude Designs.

If that eye-frazzling one-sheet doesn’t get you excited enough, this is likely just the beginning – Stanley has announced his intention to make a trilogy of Lovecraft adaptations, next eyeing up The Dunwich Horror. Fingers (or, tentacles) crossed. Catch Color Out Of Space in UK cinemas and on demand from 28 February.
