Charlize Theron: master spy? If the directors behind **John Wick **have any say in the matter, that’s exactly how we’ll see her next year. The actress is now attached to graphic novel adaptation** The Coldest City.
Dead Space/Wasteland writer Antony Johnston is behind the source material for the film, which Kurt Johnstad is adapting. David Leitch and Chad Stahelski are on board to direct the movie, to which Focus Features has bought the US rights before the producers shop it in Cannes.
Theron would be a skilled intelligence operative that is called into action when an undercover MI6 spy is killed just before the fall of the Berlin Wall. She’ll have to track down a list he was smuggling to the West in order to prevent her and her colleagues becoming endangered by the release of crucial information. And the mission becomes a deadly game of double-crossing agents and global agendas.
Leitch and Stahelski are much in demand at the moment, developing a Wick sequel and leaping aboard projects such as **Cowboy Ninja Viking **and fellow graphic novel adaptation Bloodshot. They’re now scheduled to work on Coldest City this October in Germany. Theron will be back on our screens this week in Mad Max: Fury Road.
