The cast for the Baywatch film continues to assemble, and the filmmakers are largely leaving it up to star Dwayne Johnson and his rock-solid social media accounts to announce new additions. He's hit Instagram to welcome Ilfenesh Hadera to the team.
"Casting my Baywatch love interest wasn't easy (extremely tough job but hey I'm one of the producers, but we finally found her. For our coveted role of "Stef", she had to be a lot of things: Strong, intelligent, formidable, beautiful and funny," says Johnson in his post. "Want to welcome the talented Ilfenesh Hadera to our Baywatch family. She's a 5'11 walkin' smokestack with legs for days. Smart and tougher than new rope... just the way we like 'em. And seeing as she's playing my love interest – my strong calloused hands are the ONLY HANDS allowed to rub suntan oil on her soft supple skin. You hear that Efron? Step out of line Zac and she'll knock your unattractive candy ass into next week. Mine too..."
So... yes, typical Rock style there. Hadera, currently to be found appearing on Showtime series Billions alongside Damien Lewis and Paul Giamatti, is joining the cast for the comedy movie, which already features Zac EFron, Alexandra Daddario and Kelly Rohrbach, with Priyanka Chopra also rumoured to be on board.
Seth Gordon is in the director's chair for the movie, which is aiming at an R-rated version of the cult TV series set among the lifeguards on Malibu beach. The plot will see Johnson's main man teaming up with a young hotshot (Efron) to save the beach and bay from a greedy industrialist. The film should be running (in slow motion) into UK cinemas at some point in 2017.
