James Cromwell

He might have experience with animals – well, Babe the pig, at least – but James Cromwell will be facing some slightly bigger critters in his cinematic future, as he's joined the cast of the Jurassic World sequel.

A Monster Calls' Juan Antonio Bayona is directing the film, which will see Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard back as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing, but beyond their return, nothing is known about the sequel's story, which is by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly.

Bayona has been busy gathering an eclectic cast, with Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Daniel Pineda and Ted Levine all recruited. The cameras will be rolling this year, with the film scheduled to arrive on 8 June 2018. Rumours that Cromwell will be using Raptors to round up sheep are, at this time, entirely the product of our fanciful imaginations.

Cromwell will be seen this year in biopic Marshall.
