Looks like Kong: Skull Island started a tradition with its casting of Straight Outta Compton's Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell. Because Godzilla: King Of The Monsters is adding O'Shea Jackson to its ranks.
The sequel to 2014's Godzilla has Krampus director Michael Dougherty working from a script he wrote with Zach Shields, but very little is known about the new movie. Kyle Chandler is playing a scientist, with Vera Farmiga as his wife and Stranger Things' Millie Bobby Brown as their daughter. Beyond that? We'd expect the big G to battle some other monsters, because that's all the poor creature seems to do day in, day out. Where's the movie that explores 'Zilla's own home life?
Jackson won praise for playing his father, Ice Cube in Compton and has since gone on to work on comedy Ingrid Goes West and action movie Den Of Thieves. The Godzilla follow-up, itself designed to lead to to Kong Vs. Godzilla, will be out on 22 March 2019.
