Still riding high on the success of Creed, Michael B. Jordan is staying in business with the movie's studio MGM for another film that will attempt to tap into nostalgia. This time, though, he's attached to star in a new version of The Thomas Crown Affair.

This would be a new spin on the story, which finds a debonair, adventurous businessman who pulls off heists and robberies as a side hobby. He thinks he's gotten away with his latest crime, but then a smart, beautiful insurance investigator starts to track him down, only for the pair to realise they might just be the perfect couple.

Two versions of the story have seen the projector's light so far: the 1968 version by Norman Jewison and writer Alan Trustman saw Steve McQueen as the titular thief and Faye Dunaway as nemesis/love match Vicki Anderson. Then the first remake happened in 1999 with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo in the lead roles, with John McTernan directing Leslie Dixon and Kurt Wimmer's script.

No-one is yet attached to write or direct the Jordan version, assuming it goes ahead, but with that lead, it stands a good chance of making it to screens. Jordan has a couple of other projects in development, including love triangle drama Pretenders and Destin Daniel Cretton's latest, defence attorney drama Just Mercy.
