The spin-offs featuring various creepy demonic and ghoulish creations from the Conjuring films continue to spawn. And, to almost no one's surprise there will be a third outing for the main movies, with The Conjuring 3 now in the early stages.
David Leslie Johnson, who wrote The Conjuring 2 has signed a contract to pen the third film for New Line, though not all the original creative types will be back – director James Wan is likely to still be busy bobbing in the ocean shooting Aquaman, or in the editing room snipping the Warner Bros./DC movie (which Johnson has been helping to re-write) into life.
Wan will still produce the new Conjuring, but we'd expect to see someone new in the director's chair. Story details have yet to be disclosed, but it'll be drawn from another real-life case file of paranormal nosey parkers Ed and Lorraine Warren (played in both films to date by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga). Next up for the expanding Conjuring movie universe is Annabelle: Creation, due here on 11 August.
