Original Title:

Cherry 2000

Sam's sex-robot spouse has blown a fuse, so he hires a bounty hunter to track him down. Only, the bounty hunter happens to be young, attractive and real.

A lesser-known Melanie Griffith movie finds her with a red dye job and Mad Max cut-offs as a futuristic desert ranger who helps the hero find a replacement part for his dysfunctional and much-missed sex robot. It opens quite wittily in a future hell singles bar where prospective pick-ups have to show each other demo tapes and exchange contracts before a night of sex, but then turns into a pretty typical wandering-around-in-the-wastelands action movie complete with dodgy stunts and lots of popguns.

Tim Thomerson is a funny villain, and old-timers Ben Johnson and Harry Carey J r. add a few Western overtones. Likeable, but do you want to own it?

Average example of MadMaxploitation.
