Fun Comic-Con Thor video arrives officially online

Thor Comic-Con comedy short

If you read our report on the Marvel panel at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, you might have noticed us raving about the funny short that Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi whipped up, looking to explain what the Thunder God was doing while the majority of the Avengers were clashing in Captain America: Civil War. We hoped then it would go on general release and now Marvel is including it on the extras for Civil War and put it online officially via Twitter. See it below.

Titled Team Thor, it finds Chris Hemsworth on fine comic form as the normally fairly sensible warrior kicks back in Australia with roommate Daryl and generally makes a nuisance of himself. There are weird moments with Mjolnir (woe is the man who tries to move the hammer to vacuum the floor) and a sidelong look at Thor's investigation into the Infinity Stones.

It's all shot in a similar way to Waititi's What We Do In The Shadows and is littered with fun in-jokes. Hopefully it's an indication to the lighter touch that the director will deliver with Ragnarok, in between the huge action and big drama, of course. We'll see the tone when the movie itself arrives on October 27 next year. In terms of UK home entertainment release, Captain America: Civil War will be on digital download August 30 and hits DVD and Blu-ray on September 5.
