With director Peyton Reed deep into pre-production on Ant-Man sequel Ant-Man And The Wasp, a new piece of casting news for the movie has arrived. Comedy stalwart Randall Park (The Interview) will play S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jimmy Woo.
Paul Ruddand Evangeline Lilly are back as Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne (AKA Ant-Man and The Wasp, respectively), with Michael Douglas returning as Hank Pym and Michael Pena expected to once again play the motormouthed Luis.
James "Jimmy" Woo in the comics is an agent who can trace his line back to Genghis Khan and seemed destined for a life in a criminal gang until he forged his own path in the FBI and, later, S.H.I.E.L.D. Naturally, his bio is a lot more complex than that, so find the full briefing here){href='http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/James_Woo_(Earth-616)' target='_blank' rel='noopener noreferrer'}. Given the ever-shifting fortunes of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the MCU and on the small screen, it remains to be seen how he interacts with Lang and co.
Rudd worked on the script with writers Gabriel Ferrari and Andrew Barrer, with Adam McKay contributing to the story. Hannah John-Kamen recently signed on in an unknown role and the movie will be out on 29 June, 2018. Park is on screens now in The House and has a role in James Franco's take on the making of The Room, The Disaster Artist.
